Georges Lakhovsky – The Man Who Saw Life as Frequency

Life and Path to Science

Georges Lakhovsky (1869–1942) was a Russian-born French engineer, physicist, and researcher who believed that life itself is the result of electromagnetic oscillations. Born in Minsk, he studied engineering in Odessa and later moved to France, where he became a citizen and began exploring the relationship between radiation and living organisms.

Lakhovsky argued that living cells function as tiny electromagnetic oscillators — constantly emitting and receiving frequencies that determine health or illness.

The Theory of Life Oscillations

According to his ideas, every cell possesses its own natural resonance frequency. When this harmony is disrupted — by toxins, microbes, or radiation — the cell “loses its rhythm,” and the body begins to develop disease. Lakhovsky believed that by restoring the correct vibration, one could return the body to health without medication.

He also proposed that life originated from cosmic waves that induced oscillations in matter, eventually giving rise to the first living organisms. This concept was published in his book “L’Origine de la Vie” (1925).

The Multiple Wave Oscillator (MWO)

In the 1920s and 1930s, Lakhovsky created his most famous device — the Multiple Wave Oscillator (MWO).
The machine consisted of concentric metal rings connected to a high-voltage generator, producing a wide spectrum of electromagnetic frequencies.

Lakhovsky believed that this device helped cells “find” their natural vibration and regain balance. He tested it on plants, animals, and humans, reporting faster healing and improved tissue regeneration.

Influence and Legacy

Lakhovsky’s ideas inspired several later researchers, including:

  • Royal Rife – frequency-based microorganism destruction
  • Nikola Tesla – electrical resonance applied to biology
  • Pyotr Gariaev – DNA wave theory, also known as “wave genetics”

Although mainstream science does not recognize his theories as proven, many of his concepts survive today within bioresonance therapy and alternative energy-based medicine.

Scientific Criticism

Conventional medicine does not consider Lakhovsky’s theories scientifically validated. No clinical trials have demonstrated the effectiveness of the MWO, though he remains a pioneer within the field of bioresonance for many alternative practitioners.

Quote

“Every living being emits radiation; health is the harmony of these radiations, while disease is their disharmony.”
— Georges Lakhovsky, The Secret of Life, 1939

Conclusion

Georges Lakhovsky combined physics, biology, and philosophy to propose that life is vibration and health is the balance of those vibrations. His work continues to inspire those who believe that the human body is not only biological, but also an electromagnetic system that responds to the frequencies of the world around it.
