A Message of Peace in Jerusalem
U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Israel, where he addressed the Knesset and announced that the war in Gaza is over. He declared the beginning of “a golden era of peace” for the Middle East, calling it the most historic moment since the founding of Israel in 1948.
“Today we are not only ending a war — we are beginning a future,” Trump said, highlighting that the new peace plan includes security guarantees for Israel, humanitarian aid for Gaza, and a hostage-prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas.
The New Gaza Peace Plan
According to Trump’s proposal, Israel will begin a gradual troop withdrawal from Gaza, while an International Stabilization Force will monitor security and assist with reconstruction.
The Palestinian Authority stated it is ready to cooperate with the U.S. and former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair to implement the plan. However, Hamas leaders rejected full demilitarization, calling it “unacceptable.”
Trump’s Travel Route
After his speech in Jerusalem, Trump traveled to Egypt, where the Gaza Peace Summit is being held in Sharm El-Sheikh. He is meeting leaders from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan to solidify the ceasefire terms.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not attending the summit due to the Sukkot holiday, but he congratulated Trump via phone, calling it a “historic step toward lasting peace.”
Global Reactions
The European Union and United Nations have welcomed Trump’s initiative as a significant diplomatic achievement, while warning that long-term trust between both sides will determine the success of the deal.
Analysts note that Trump’s visit has re-established America’s influence in the Middle East and strengthened his image as a global peace negotiator.
